What to expect.

If you are uncertain about whether therapy is the right thing for you then I am happy to either have a discussion with you over email or you can come and see me for a brief first meeting, no obligation, for a chat.  I will do my best to understand you and the unique concerns that bring you in. It is important for you to feel comfortable, and this initial session will give you a sense of whether you would like to work with me or not. I'm happy to answer any questions that you may have about my training and experience through email or over the phone.

Once you are certain that you are ready for therapy and that I am the right therapist for you I will need to ask you to complete some clinical measures forms that ask you various questions relating to the areas of concern that you have.  You will then bring these to our first information gathering session, called an assessment.  Assessment sessions usually last about one and a half hours to two hours as it is important that I gain as much knowledge as possible about your background and important issues that have brought you to where you are today.  Once this is done we can then decide on a regular appointment time to suit you.
